TiVo Restore Image Instructions

Don't know how to put a TiVo Restore Image onto a new hard drive? Read along!

  • Get your restore image here.

    • Here we go!

    Series 1 (Phillips):

    NOTE: Series 1 TiVos can only be used for making manual recordings from a line-in/coaxial input.

    It can no longer connect to the TiVo Service since September 2016, regardless of whether you have Lifetime/All-In or not.

  • Download the TBK image in this folder.
  • Download WinMFS in the same folder (try version 9.3f if version 9.3g gives an error saying “Error writing inode”).
